On April 2, registration opens for entries for the Pentawards, a worldwide competition exclusively devoted to packaging design in all its forms. It is open to all who are associated with the creation and marketing of packaging. Entry fees are per creation submitted in a category. Early bird rates good from April 2 to 13, 2012. Registration runs through May 11, 2012. There will be no extension of the registration deadline. The sponsors of the Pentawards will also offer additional cash prizes. The Diamond Pentaward winner will receive, in addition to a trophy, the Esko Suite10 software. A Sleever International special prize will be bestowed on the best creation in a limited series. The Platinum Pentaward from the Luxury category will receive a booth at the next Luxepack Fair in Shanghai. All the winners will be published by Taschen in a book that will be available in November 2012. Winners will also receive a complimentary copy of the reference book.
